• Sleep Creek Wildlife Management Area: is located in West Virginia's eastern panhandle and only minutes from both cabins.  Haven for both hunters and anglers, sitting across two mountaintops there are endless opportunities for adventures.  Devils Nose and Eagle Nest Lookout are two trails close to cabin.
• Stauffer's March Preserve: 46-acres of primarily wetland in Back Creek Valley in Berkeley County, WV.  Today, Stauffer’s Marsh is a paradise for migrating and nesting waterfowl.
• Cacapon State Park: Cacapon Mountain is the highest peak in the eastern panhandle and the meaning of the word is "medicine waters".   Over 20 miles of trails in the 6000 acres. 
• PawPaw Tunnel:  located near PawPaw, West Virginia this 3118 ft cannel tunnel is a great engineering marvel and worth exploring. 

Jackson County, NC is home to some of the most beautiful views, breathtaking waterfalls, and memory making outdoor adventure. We are fortunate to have two family vacation rentals in Sapphire, NC, where we are surrounded by so much beauty. 

• Jackson County- 8 hikes with amazing views:   home to the highest mountains in the eastern United States.  Whiteside Mountain Trail and Pantertown Valley Trail would be the closest to Hawks Nest Retreat and Ma-Ru-Mar. 
• Gorges State Park: Short drive from our NC cabins rentals, home to both Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls.

High Point, North Carolina may be known for the their fantastic Furniture & Textile Market, but there is plenty of places to enjoy a nice hike and some sun in between shopping. 

• Rich Fork Preserve: highly diverse trail system; with both hiking & biking trails. 
• Best Trails in High Point, NC: 4 scenic trails that are minutes drive from our High Point Vacation Rental.  
• Piedmont Environmental Center: 6.6 miles of natural trails and access to the High Point and Bicentennial Greenways

The Wrightsville Cabin is located a quarter of a mile from the Susquehanna River.  York County has some beautiful parks, preserves and vistas to keep you busy on those sunny days. 

•   Scenic Trails Wrightsville, PA: 
•  Chickies Rock County Park:  Numerous vistas; a massive outcropping of quartzite rock towering 100 feet above the river; and a collection of historical treasures. 
• Mason Dixon Trail: 30-mile section that follows the lower Susquehanna River in York County, PA. 

With the Handel Haus vacation rental in Stoudtburg Village, PA you are surrounded by antiques, flea markets and plenty of Amish tourism to keep you occupied.  But the area still boast beautiful trails and walks to enjoy the most gorgeous sunrise or sunsets over the rich Lancaster County Farmland.
